HIV/AIDS

Dealing with an HIV/AIDS diagnosis can be a daunting challenge, especially for those who are also affected by homelessness, drug addiction, or mental illness.

Many of the people with HIV/AIDS served by SUS, who are typically referred from municipal hospitals or emergency shelters, have lost their jobs, their homes as well as contact with family and friends. SUS steps into that void, offering residential and support services to people living with HIV/AIDS, including transitional and permanent housing; a safe, non-judgmental environment; counseling and support groups; recreation and socializing; and medication monitoring.
