Employment Services

Work is a critical part of one’s identity, an important source of self-worth and, for many, a cornerstone of recovery. SUS’ employment services are designed to assist veterans and people with mental illness to find work, including assistance with obtaining education and training.

Career development is a central aspect of this program. Staff work collaboratively with participants to individualize a program of work readiness, education and/or training geared towards developing work ethics and gaining work experience.

The program links participants to existing jobs and works with employers to develop new jobs. Employment specialists provide support and job coaching to enhance employee job performance and employer satisfaction.

SUS offers the following employment training programs in addition to the employment services mentioned:

  • Homeless Veterans Reintegration Program
  • Project P.R.E.P.A.R.E. Peer Training Program
