HIV/AIDS Residential Services

SUS provides emergency transitional and permanent housing to homeless individuals and families living with AIDS.

Emergency Transitional Housing
At SUS’ emergency transitional housing facilities in Brooklyn and the Bronx, 450 individuals annually are provided with on-site social services and assistance in finding permanent housing and entitlements during their 6-month length of stay.

Services provided include facilitation and monitoring of medical treatments, group counseling, crisis intervention, access to home care services, recreation and socialization opportunities.

Permanent Housing
Formerly homeless individuals and families live in apartments scattered throughout Brooklyn and the Bronx.

Housing assistance, daily living skills, educational opportunities, health monitoring ahd linkages, family services, vocational opportunities, and socialization and recreational opportunities are some of the benefits provided.
