S:US/Palladia Inc. Receives Three Program Enhancement Grants For Community-Based Programs

S:US/Palladia Inc. was recently awarded three $5,000 grants by the New York City  Department of Youth and Community Development to enhance community-based services and support for individuals and families impacted by domestic violence, chronic homelessness and major health risks.

Our domestic violence crisis shelter , Aegis, will use its award to train staff to assess and address the needs of children who have experienced trauma as a result of domestic violence and to help them begin a healing process.

The second of these grants will provide starter kits, linens, utensils and other household items for 23 individuals and families who have experienced chronic homelessness and are relocating from shelters to permanent supportive housing in the community.

Our Care Coordination Program, an advocacy program to provide individuals with serious medical or mental health conditions access to primary and specialty health care, will use the funds to offer presentations, outreach and enrollment strategies to engage prospectively eligible individuals in the community to promote a healthier lifestyle and better management of their health-related needs.

These awards were made possible by NYC Councilpersons Fernando Cabrera, Annabel Palma and New York City Council Speaker Melissa Mark- Viverito.
