Veterans

Veterans returning to New York City need coordinated assistance in order to overcome daily life challenges.  Veterans encounter a wide range of co-occurring challenges upon their return which hinders successful transition to civilian life. Issues facing returning veterans include legal problems, physical injuries, mental illness and substance abuse, homelessness, unemployment, and problems with family, marital and personal relationships.

SUS provides integrated and coordinated care that ensures all services are veteran-centered and needs-based. Our cohesive support system enables successful family and community reintegration for returning veterans, prevents homelessness and supports career development and competitive employment.
