2023 Purple Thursday: S:US Proudly Wears Purple
October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. S:US operates two domestic violence shelters in New York City, offering respite and sanctuary for women, men, and their children who have experienced domestic violence. We provide counseling, supportive services, and a place where individuals and families can feel safe and secure so they can rebuild their lives.
Purple Thursday is a National Day of Action that occurs on the third Thursday in October during Domestic Violence Awareness Month. On October 19, S:US staff proudly wears purple to raise awareness about domestic, spousal, and teen dating violence. This is a simple, yet meaningful way to show support and raise awareness for this important cause. Together, we stand strong in our pursuit to End Domestic and Gender-Based Violence (ENDGBV).
