Celebrating DSPs on Direct Support Professional Recognition Week
Direct Support Professional Recognition Week is commemorated on September 10-16 this year. We would like to take a moment to celebrate our DSPs, who are invaluable to our mission and the people we serve. We appreciate DSPs this week and always!
S:US’ direct support professionals (DSPs) are a lifeline to people with intellectual/developmental disabilities. With compassion and dedication, they provide vital assistance with everything from meeting daily needs, such as medication administration, to companionship and a variety of other supports to help people contribute to their communities and enjoy all that life has to offer. DSPs also help people learn how to do things for themselves. It is because of their care and compassion that those who receive our services continue to have enriching and rewarding lives. Support people with disabilities by advocating for higher wages and investment in the Direct Support Professional workforce.
To our DSPs: thank you for everything you do. While this week is DSP Recognition Week, every day we are thankful and full of praise for all that you do. The people we support at S:US are living their best lives thanks to you!
