MLK Day Food Drive

As we know, food insecurity is skyrocketing—we see it among the people we serve, the communities we are in, and even among some of our staff. According to the True Cost of Living Report, 50% of working households in New York City are struggling to make ends meet. Food scarcity increases anxiety and depression. We know that hunger doesn’t fall equally across the city – it hits particularly hard in communities of color and the people we serve.

We are hosting a food drive to support our community. We are accepting donations of non-perishable food in jars, cans and sealed packets. We recommend sauces, soups, beans, vegetables in cans or jars, honey, peanut butter, candy, boxed juices, long-life milk, coconut cream, and fish in oil. All food donations will help stock our community fridges and provide food for S:US families and the communities we serve.

Donation Drop Off Locations from January 3-12, 2024:

Lefferts Day Hab: 115-70 Lefferts Blvd in Queens

Lydig Day Hab: 708 Lydig Ave in the Bronx

Central Office: 463 7th Ave, 17th Floor in Manhattan

Vernon ICF: 150 Vernon Ave in Brooklyn

We are grateful to S:US’ friends and supporters for supporting our community.
