S:US Receives TD Charitable Foundation Housing for Everyone Grant
Services for the UnderServed (S:US) is proud to announce that we have been selected as one of 40 nonprofit organizations to receive a $250,000 grant from the TD Charitable Foundation’s 20th annual Housing for Everyone program. This year marks a milestone for the program—its 20th anniversary—and the largest individual grant awards in its history. Click here to read the TD Charitable Foundation press release.
Strengthening Housing Stability in New York
S:US was chosen as one of only six New York–based organizations recognized for our proactive, community-centered approach to preventing housing instability. The 2026 Housing for Everyone grants focus on eviction prevention, addressing the growing challenges faced by individuals and families—including rising living costs and sudden income loss. These pressures disproportionately affect low- to moderate-income communities, where the risk of eviction is highest.
“Across New York City, thousands of households are on the verge of homelessness as housing costs continue to rise. Preventing eviction and keeping families stably housed often begins with having a knowledgeable, accessible housing expert who can help them navigate their options,” said Perry Perlmutter, CEO of Services for the UnderServed. “Support from the TD Charitable Foundation’s Housing for Everyone grant will significantly strengthen our Homebase program by expanding staffing and improving our ability to respond quickly to individuals and families seeking assistance. At a time when demand far exceeds available resources, this investment ensures we can deliver timely, effective support to those who need it most.”
What This Grant Means for S:US
This funding will strengthen our efforts to:
- Support individuals and families at risk of eviction
- Expand access to housing stability resources
- Reduce financial stressors that can lead to homelessness
- Promote long-term community well-being
At Services for the UnderServed, we believe that housing is a human right and stable housing is the foundation for opportunity, health, and independence. This grant will help us continue delivering on that mission for New Yorkers who need it most.
Looking Ahead
We extend our gratitude to the TD Charitable Foundation for its partnership and investment in our work. Together, we are advancing a future where all individuals—regardless of background or circumstance—have access to safe, stable, and affordable housing.
