During the month of February, as the Governor put his final touches on the State Budget, self-advocates, direct support professionals, parents and provider agencies rallied in Albany to advocate for much needed living wage in the intellectual/developmentalĀ disabilities sector.
Hundreds of advocates called upon the Governor and State Legislature to include $45 million in the final 2017-18 State Budget to support the increases needed to address the vacancy and turnover rates that negatively impact the sector, and provide for a fair wage.
