DSP of the Year awarded to S:US Staff

Nickey works in our South Bronx Day Habilitation, a program in the Developmental Disabilities Services. She has consistently exemplified the highest standards of professionalism, compassion, and commitment.
Nickey has dedicated 13 years of outstanding service to S:US! Nickey is a model staff member whose impact is felt not only by the people she supports but also by her colleagues. She has built deep, meaningful relationships with the people she serves, treating each person with dignity, respect, and genuine care. Her ability to connect with program participants on a personal level has helped empower them to reach their goals and live more fulfilling lives.
Nickey’s reliability, patience, and positivity set her apart. She approaches each day with enthusiasm and a problem-solving mindset, always looking for ways to improve the quality of life for those in her care. Whether she’s advocating for a person served, collaborating with a team, or mentoring a new staff member, Nickey leads by example. Her colleagues describe her as dependable, compassionate, and incredibly supportive. She fosters a team environment where everyone feels valued and encouraged. Her long-standing commitment and consistent excellence make her not only a pillar of our organization but a true embodiment of what it means to be a Direct Support Professional.
