Our annual Harvest Celebration highlights S:US’ community food security program, showcasing Urban Farms. The event takes place at one of our supportive housing residences in East New York, with a morning collaborative learning activity and lunch prepared by urban farmers and staff from produce grown in our farms and gardens. This year, Urban Farms grew more than 10,000 pounds of fresh produce, which is equivalent to more than 7,500 meals, with an estimated market value of more than $45,000. We have 75 growing spaces in Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, and the Bronx, including eight community farms.
