Services for the UnderServed, L+M Development Partners, and Osborne Association are pleased to announce Marcus Garvey Extension Phase 2 in Brownsville, Brooklyn. The two projects, Buildings C/E and G, closed on construction financing for a total of $204 million and will comprise a total of 287 units, all of which will be affordable for households at or below 70% of AMI. Building G will include 55 units of supportive housing for formerly homeless individuals and families with on-site supportive services provided by S:US. Buildings C/E will include 88 supportive housing units for individuals re-entering the community from incarceration with on-site supportive services provided by Osborne Association.
Marcus Garvey Building G is designed by SLCE Architects and began construction in December 2023, with an anticipated completion date of October 2025. Buildings C/E are designed by Curtis + Ginsberg Architects and began construction in April 2024, with an anticipated completion date of April 2026. Once finished, Buildings C/E and G will total of over 308,000 square-feet, featuring 80 studios, 112 one-bedrooms, 55 two-bedrooms, and 40 three-bedrooms. All three buildings will be all-electric with geothermal systems for heating and cooling, and Building G will include solar panels on the residential roofs. Each building will also include a supportive services office, recreation room, bicycle storage room, and landscaped courtyard for residents.
