June is Pride Month, plus S:US is marching at NYC Pride March

Happy Pride Month! June marks the start of Pride Month, when we celebrate the accomplishments and contributions of the LGBTQ+ community. The month of June was chosen to honor the history of the Stonewall Riots in June 1969, which was a catalyst for the emerging gay rights movement that was modeled after the civil rights and women’s rights movements. It is because of these activists, that we now have the human rights for the LGBTQ+ community that we do today.

This year for the first time, S:US will be marching in the NYC Pride March, happening on Sunday, June 25, 2023! We are excited to come together as an organization to support our colleagues and people served who are part of the LGBTQ+ community. The NYC Pride March was originally organized to commemorate the one-year anniversary of the Stonewall Riots, and over the years, its purpose has broadened to include recognition of the fight against AIDS, to remember those we have lost, and to inspire, educate, and celebrate our diverse community.

S:US is thrilled to be able to take this step to support our LGBTQ+ staff members, people served, and our community. We are a workplace that promotes equality, respect, and inclusion, and we are proud to celebrate the diversity of our workforce. We look forward to an amazing Pride March!
