LAMB Makes a Difference

S:US’ Corporate Partners program provides financial resources beyond public funding that enhance our services and help to ensure excellence. Corporate Partners play an important role as business community leaders by demonstrating their support for equitable access to safe housing, healthy food, and quality, timely healthcare for vulnerable New Yorkers.

In recognition of this valuable partnership, we’re sharing a story about one of our generous Champion-level Corporate Partners, LAMB Insurance Services.

LAMB Insurance Services is the property and casualty insurance broker of S:US. We spoke with staff from LAMB to learn more about why they partner with S:US.

Joshua Lamberg, CEO & Founder of LAMB Insurance Services, was employed in the insurance field for many years when he saw an opportunity to develop expertise working with nonprofit organizations. Founded in 2010, LAMB is now the largest brokerage in the country dedicated exclusively to nonprofit and human service organizations. LAMB’s motto is, “We go to work every day with the goal to positively affect people’s lives.”

“S:US’ reputation is outstanding. The agency is the best in class at efficiently delivering services to people in need,” said Joshua Lamberg. “I don’t think there’s a better-run nonprofit housing and service provider in New York City.”

LAMB is guided by five core values that shape what they do: humility, work ethic, caring, effectivity, and passion. Employees utilize these values to drive conversations with colleagues, guide interactions with clients, and steer the company. These values are exemplified in their work ethic and passion for helping organizations like S:US.

“What I love about S:US is that they are unique in that there aren’t a whole lot of organizations set up to support the most vulnerable people out there. Caring and passion are LAMB core values that also resonate with S:US,” said Michael Lamberg, National Sales Director for LAMB.

The LAMB team makes it a point to understand S:US and our work. They recognize that behavioral health, housing, and homelessness are all interconnected, and that the pandemic exacerbated the need for these services.

“It is often difficult for people to find behavioral health services on their own, and we also know that demand outweighs supply. Plus, the need is often immediate. More than ever, especially in large cities, organizations that address behavioral health and housing are critically important,” said Dan Colombo, Sales Director for LAMB’s New York office.

“Mental health, housing crisis … these are buzzwords that people talk about. But does everyone know how to find the resources they need? S:US makes a tangible contribution towards improving the lives of New Yorkers who are in need,” said Kelsey DiCarlo, LAMB’s Account Manager for S:US.

“We spend a lot of time understanding the programs and services of our clients. It’s interesting to see how organizations think outside the box,” said Dan. “S:US’ Urban Farms program is an example of this. It is a unique offering with the added benefits of therapeutic horticulture and skills development for the people S:US serves. When we talk about S:US internally, there’s a credible reputation that we at LAMB understand.”

We’re grateful to the LAMB team for their long-standing partnership!
