Army veteran and S:US staff Jonathan Henderson was interviewed by NY1 about the challenges in transitioning back to civilian life for some veterans and talks about his work in serving veterans.

The community fridge helps feed the hungry and the financially strapped, while boosting the mental health of the volunteers.

The project will see community fridges installed and replenished with fresh fruits and vegetables three times per week. Produce will come from the organization’s gardening program, Urban Farms.

We plan to expand the community fridges program in more neighborhoods across the 5 boroughs pending additional funding and fill fridges with produce grown through our Urban Farms program.
