S:US Attends Human Services State Advocacy Day

On March 10th, S:US joined the Human Services Council (HSC) in Albany for the Human Services State Advocacy Day, standing alongside more than 300 nonprofit workers to demand a 7.8% investment on all human services contracts.

This effort was part of HSC’s #JustPay campaign, which calls for fair wages and sustainable funding for human services organizations. As cost-of-living rises, State contracts must keep pace to ensure organizations can cover program costs and provide competitive wages for dedicated workers who strengthen our communities every day.

Zakeeyah Wortham, S:US’ Behavioral Health Services Regional Director, shared:
“It’s important to advocate for equitable wages for all human service sector nonprofit agencies. We work hard, and we deserve to be paid fairly so we can support ourselves and our families. It was an honor to be in Albany for Advocacy Day to join our colleagues in support for all nonprofit agencies to receive a pay increase.”

Thanks!

We’ll keep you in the loop on all things SUS.
