S:US is a Women-Forward Workplace Finalist!
We’re thrilled to announce that S:US is a finalist for the Crain’s New York inaugural Women of Influence awards as a women-forward workplace!
As a community-based, nonprofit health and human services organization, S:US plays a critical role in supporting the wellbeing of the city’s most vulnerable individuals and families each year. We are committed to fostering career opportunities for women. With a 65% female staff and 76% of our leadership positions held by women, we understand the universal value that gender equity brings to our staff, our organization, the people we serve, and our community. Bolstering a more diverse workplace is a key priority because more than half the 37,000 people that we serve are Black, indigenous and women of color.
By advancing a diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging and accessibility initiative across the organization, we are nurturing the role models women and women of color need to advance in their careers. We also look to promote from within, then lean into our community to recruit talent. Staff with aspirations to transition into leadership roles are given access to programs designed to strengthen their capabilities.
