Women’s History Month
March is Women’s History Month. At S:US, we provide vital services that transform the lives of thousands of vulnerable women who are striving to build better futures for themselves and their families, in spite of extremely challenging circumstances.
S:US works to improve the lives of people with disabilities, people living in poverty, and people experiencing homelessness, and the women we serve often face unique challenges. For example, women and children who are homeless after fleeing domestic violence also must deal with trauma as they search for a new home. Below is a quote from Lorraine (name and likeness have been changed for privacy), a veteran and survivor of domestic violence who has benefited from our programs.
The women S:US serves are supported by a diverse group of hardworking staff members, over 60% of whom are women. These strong, compassionate women dedicate their careers to serving others, and we thank them and our entire workforce today and every day!
