“Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time.”
— Thomas Merton

On Wednesday, March 18th, supporters of Services for the UnderServed (S:US) gathered at Penthouse 45 in mid-town Manhattan to view works of art created by the people we serve. “Creativity gives the people we serve a way to express themselves and rebuild confidence,” noted Perry Perlmutter, President and CEO of S:US. Art is a catalyst for healing, empowerment, and transformation. Through their artwork, individuals are able to express what words alone cannot, reclaim their stories, and reconnect with their own sense of worth.

Our services are largely made possible through the generosity of our supporters helping to ensure that these creative healing programs continue to grow and reach even more New Yorkers on their journeys toward stability, recovery, and belonging. If you are inspired to commit more support, we encourage you to join our recurring monthly gift program as a S:UStainer. Or to make a gift to help S:US serve more New Yorkers in need, please consider a one-time donation.

We greatly value our supportive community. If you would like to get involved with S:US beyond financial aid, please further consider joining an individual or group volunteer opportunities, becoming a Corporate Partner, or joining us at our Dinner for a Better New York on June 10th. Should you have any questions, please email [email protected].
